TurboQR Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 24, 2026
Thank you for using TurboQR.
This extension follows one simple principle:
Your data belongs only to you, and stays entirely on your device.
What is TurboQR?
TurboQR is a Chrome browser extension that turns any page, link, image, or selected text into a scannable QR code in a single click.
Key features include:
- Right-click anywhere and choose "Generate QR Code" to encode the current URL, a specific link, an image address, or your selected text
- Click the toolbar icon for an instant QR of the page you are on
- Edit the QR content live before saving
- Copy the QR image to your clipboard or save it as a PNG
- Support for 11 languages, with automatic right-to-left support for Arabic
- Runs fully offline — no account, no tracking, no clutter
What Information Do We Collect?
TurboQR does not collect, upload, store, analyze, or sell any personal information.
Specifically, TurboQR does NOT:
- Collect browsing history
- Collect search queries
- Collect personally identifiable information
- Collect usage statistics
- Use analytics or tracking scripts
- Use ad SDKs
- Use user fingerprinting
- Upload any data to the developer's servers
- Require account registration
Local Data Storage
To provide its features, TurboQR saves a small amount of data in your browser's local storage.
For example:
- Selected display language
- Theme and appearance settings
- Other display preferences
This data is stored only on your device.
These settings are saved locally and are not synced to your browser account or to any cloud service.
Network Requests
TurboQR does not run any backend server.
All QR code generation happens entirely on your device. The text or link you choose to encode is processed locally by the extension and never sent over the network.
TurboQR does not make network requests to transmit your data anywhere.
Data Sharing
Because TurboQR does not collect any user data, there is nothing to share, sell, or provide to third parties.
Permissions
TurboQR requests only the minimum permissions required for its core functionality.
These permissions are used solely to:
- Add the right-click context menu entry
- Read the current page URL, the targeted link or image address, or your selected text to encode into a QR code
- Copy the generated QR image to your clipboard
- Save the generated QR image as a PNG file
- Save your local preferences
They are never used to track your behavior.
Children's Privacy
TurboQR does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Privacy Policy Updates
If this privacy policy changes in the future, the updated version will be published on this page.
